Real Men. Real Depression.
Depression is a serious but treatable medical condition that can strike anyone regardless of age, ethnic background, socioeconomic status, or gender. However, depression may go unrecognized by those who have it.
Depression in men is not uncommon, though they are more unlikely to admit their depression or seek help.
Marriage and Family
For all our differences, men and women want the same thing: satisfying, loving relationships. How can you experience a lifetime of love, fulfillment and intimacy in your marriage?
If you are like most couples, you will spend more time planning your wedding than any other event in your life. You will pick out colors, choose the wedding party, and decide who will sit with who, plan your honeymoon, and pull together a myriad of details that boggle the mind. Pre-marital counseling is a way to enrich your relationship so that it has every opportunity to grow into a satisfying and stable marriage. During pre-marital counseling you will learn how you and your future spouse deal with key relational issues, how to capitalize on your strengths, and work through possible areas of conflict. This investment will help you begin your relationship on solid foundations.
Interface-Samaritan Counseling Centers will be offering pre-marital counseling to prospective couples. For more information on dates and times please contact Jan Gibbs at 713-626-7990 ext. 102. Space is limited.

Divorce Recovery
There’s no two ways about it: as the old song goes, “Breaking up is hard to do”. Moving on from a hurtful split can be difficult work, but there are steps you can take to make the healing begin.
After a bad breakup, it's normal to experience feelings of sadness, loss, and anger. But if you feel yourself falling into despair, or you can't function, it may be time to speak with a counselor or other trusted person.
Depression and Anxiety
Depression and anxiety disorders are not the same though, although at first glance they seem very similar. Depression generates emotions such as hopelessness, despair and anger. A person with anxiety disorder, however, experiences fear, panic or anxiety in situations where most people would not feel anxious or threatened.
